Positions, journal and P&L

Where to see open positions, active orders and trade history in LootX, how to close a position from the table, and how P&L is calculated.

LootX shows open positions, active orders, closed trades and your trading result in the Trade Info window and in separate panels you can place next to the order book. This page covers what each table contains, how to close a position or cancel an order from there, and how P&L is calculated.

Where to look

  • P&L card in the window’s top bar shows the current result. Click it to open the Trade Info window; the eye icon Hide P&L hides the numbers — for example, while streaming.
  • The Orders button in the top bar shows the number of active orders and opens the window straight to the Orders tab.
  • The Trade Info window has tabs P&L, Positions, Orders, Trades, Stats, Alerts. The side block Session shows the number of trades and commission.
  • Panels — in the panel picker, category Trading: Positions, Orders, Trades, P&L, Stats. These are the same tables, placed in your layout next to the order book and chart. How to add panels — Workspace.

Tables aggregate data from all connections at once; the Connection column shows which account a row belongs to.

Positions

The Open positions table: Ticker, Side, Size, Price (average entry), Pnl (unrealized) and Connection. Rows can be sorted by clicking a column header.

How to close a position

  • X in the row — close a single position. The terminal asks “Close this position?” and closes it the same way as the D key in the order book.
  • Close all — “Close all positions?”, button Yes, close. Each position is closed with its own order. The same command is available as the Close all positions hotkey, unbound by default.
  • From the order book — the D key, Close mode, or the X on the position card on the chart. Details — Orders.

You don’t need to open the order book for that coin to close: the terminal finds the price itself.

Spot positions

On spot, the terminal tracks a position from your buy and sell executions. If a row remains even though the coins are already sold or it’s a small remainder, select the row and press Clear. The row disappears and won’t come back from old executions until you place a new order for that coin.

Active orders

The Active orders table: Ticker, Side, Type, Price, Size, Time, Connection; the window also has a filled-size column.

  • X in the row cancels the order immediately, without confirmation.
  • Cancel all — “Cancel all active orders?”, button Yes, cancel.

You can also cancel all orders across all exchanges with the X next to the Orders button in the window’s top bar.

Trade journal

The Trades tab — Trade history. A trade here is a position from open to close, not an individual fill: adds and partial exits are combined into one row. Columns: Ticker, Exchange, Market, Side, Entry, Exit, Size, Size $, Turnover $, Commission, Funding, %, Pnl, Time.

  • A row expands: inside is a mini-chart of the trade and the list of fills.
  • In the Trades panel, double-click opens the trade breakdown window.
  • The CSV button exports closed trades to a file.

Where trades come from

The journal is built from fills sent by the exchange for the connected account. So it includes all your trades on that account — including those made on the exchange website, in the app or in another program while the terminal is running and connected. Commission and realized result come from the exchange’s response.

Funding for a futures trade is pulled from account history after it closes. If the result differs from the exchange or the terminal was closed during trades, click Reconcile with exchange on the P&L tab: the terminal rebuilds trades for the day from account history — sizes, commission and funding. If the exchange doesn’t provide history, reconciliation won’t change anything.

P&L

The P&L tab — Financial result.

At the top, the summary:

  • Net PnL — realized result minus commission plus funding;
  • Commission — total commissions paid;
  • Trades — number of trades, profitable and losing;
  • Drawdown.

Below is a table by connection: Connection, Currency, Commission, Balance, Available, Locked, P&L. The All connections filter narrows P&L to one connection; the selection is not saved between launches.

What period

P&L accumulates since the last reset — not per day and not per session. It survives a terminal restart and matches the number on the card in the top bar. The journal stores up to 10,000 recent trades.

Reset starts the tally over: it erases trades, the equity curve, statistics and the history of triggered alerts on the Alerts tab. The button works immediately, without confirmation, and Reconcile with exchange after a reset does not go back into history before the reset moment. The Reset button in the P&L panel is the same reset.

Statistics

The Statistics tab and the Stats panel calculate metrics for a period: Day, Week, Month, All or Period with date selection. Cards: Winrate, Turnover, Long / Short, Average R:R, Profit factor, Best / Worst. Statistics are built from the same journal, so a reset also zeroes them.

FAQ

What period does the P&L cover?
Since the last time you hit “Reset”. The P&L survives a terminal restart and matches the number on the card in the window’s top bar.
Do trades placed on the exchange website show up in the trade journal?
Yes. The journal is built from account executions that come from the exchange while the terminal is running and connected — it doesn’t matter where the order was placed. You can rebuild the day’s trades with the “Reconcile with exchange” button.
Why doesn’t my P&L match the exchange?
Funding rate and exact fees are pulled from account history. Click “Reconcile with exchange” on the “P&L” tab: the terminal will rebuild the day’s trades from exchange data.
